Anansinisim is an exploration of identity, spirituality, culture, and tradition through photography and body painting. Inspired by the wisdom of Ananse, the Akan trickster and storyteller, this book visually reinterprets African heritage for a contemporary audience.
In this collection, Ghanaian artist Oscar Korbla Mawuli Awuku weaves together ancestral symbols, body art, and photography to challenge perspectives on self-representation and history. With a unique fusion of precolonial African aesthetics and modern visual storytelling, Anansinisim invites viewers into a world where the past informs the present and the body becomes a living archive.
